*Deal of the Week* Neiman Marcus Shoe To-Do Event

Neiman Marcus is giving you the opportunity to contribute to charity--but just as importantly, they're giving you a perfect excuse to shop for shoes! Today and tomorrow only, when you buy any two pairs of shoes from Neiman Marcus, $50 will be contributed to Success Worldwide, an organization which benefits disadvantaged women. All you need to do is place your two pairs in your shopping cart and apply code SHOE2DO. For starters, Style Bard recommends these "Glitter Pumps" by Christian Louboutin. They come in both "Fuxia" and "Nude" and if you really can't choose between them, why not spring for one of each? I certainly wish I could afford to, because these gorgeous shoes are just too hardcore for me not to crave. This offer is available both in stores and online.

Code: SHOE2DO

Expires: Midnight, March 27th, 2010

So I was looking though some of the Neiman Marcus shoes from your link. Platforms are the new trend? The ankle-high, chunky-strapped, peep-toe pumps are out? I think when shoes get a little too bulky in the toes they can look a bit drag-y.

I completely agree. I almost wrote something about how you'd have to be careful with make-up and accessories if you went out in these shoes. Especially if, like me, they'd push your height over the 6' mark!

The thing about a concealed platform in a pump is that it allows you to gain the extra height without killing your foot arch and back as much. By having the platform underneath, the angle of the shoe is less steep. This actually makes them easier to walk in than even some lower-heeled shoes, depending on the construction and geometry! This is one reason they're so popular right now.
