Sannibel from Piperlime

I know we already covered the Lime Tag Sale, but as I was browsing for shoes for my little sister (if you ever need my aid to locate shoes, just email me! I love to help), I came across these Steve Madden 'Sannibel' sandals. My family used to go to Sanibel Island every labor day, and it brings back such great memories. These beautiful leather sandals complete sucked me in with the whimsy of strolling soft sand beaches in them. But we can't wait until September to buy them, because these will be gone by then - they're now on sale for $29.99 and selling out fast. So if you're falling for their charm as I am and might want them in White or Gold, get them now from Piperlime.

Reduced Cole Haan and Johnston & Murphy

I may be wrong, but I feel as though the men's shoes from Jos. A. Bank used to go on sale a lot more. Anyway, it's rare these days for me to discover these brands on sale, so I really look forward to hearing about it. Cole Haan and Johnston & Murphy (and Rockland and others) are leading names in men's footwear, now on sale at Jos. A. Bank. Check out the great selection and impressive savings while these prices last. Whether you're looking for a weekend shoe or something snazzy to spice up the office, there's a perfect shoe on sale for you right now. How about the sophisticated (albeit slightly geographically confused) Santa Barbara Venetian Shoe by Cole Haan? With a handsewn leather Italian bridle and Nike technology for comfort, these are worth well over the current selling price, so get them while supplies and low prices last.

50% Off Hot Topic Clearance

I know I've said I might lay off covering Hot Topic for awhile, for various previously stated reasons, such as that I haven't actually lain eyes on a pair of shoes from HT in a long, long time. (They could be made of cardboard for all I know! That's not very responsible of me to promote.) But then they had to go and have another 50% off sale. I believe the previous one lasted a weekend, while this one runs through the duration of the month-- mega bonus. Their Clearance section is entirely 50% off already lowered prices, and the last time they did this it garnered a lot of attention, even from those who might have thought they wouldn't go shoe shopping here. So, here we are again, since the Style Bard is never one to keep such a dramatic sale from her readers. How about funky black patent t-straps for only $7.99? That's what I thought; it's worth taking a look. There are plenty of flats for about $5 too!

The Lime Tag Sale from Piperlime

We all know I love Piperlime, if for no other reason than my overworked Old Navy credit card. (No kidding, the strip literally does not work anymore. One card should not bear the burden of Old Navy, Banana Republic, The Gap and Piperlime!)But I especially love sale time. The prices are always fantastic at Piperlime, and the sale section is even better, but a Lime Tag Sale is the best. Enjoy up to 40% off great picks like these Studio Pollini 'Sling Pumps'-- now over $100 less than the original price! I know I'm not the only girl out there looking for patent purple heels right now... also look for steals from names like Franco Sarto and Betsey Johnson, plus many, many more.

Expires: Limited Time Only

(Hey, you know it's a big deal if the Manolo covers it! It's like he's taking the Style Bard's role for a day. =D We can trade schedules for a week if you'd like, Mr. Manolo! Email me.)

Wellingtons at Shopbop

If you live in South Florida, you need a pair of these right about now. Put away the suede, flats and flip-flops for a few more weeks; I sympathize.

(By the way, this is how grown-ups do rainboots. Leave the little ones to the ladybug print. I mean you!)

Weekend Shopping

So I did not purchase any shoes this weekend at the mall. (Shock and awe!) I looked; I tried on a few (several) pairs. I coveted Ralph Lauren black patent wedges and realized that I bought peep-toe black patent wedges just a few weeks ago. (More on that another day.) And then I tried to help my little sister find non-peep-toe black flats, which is surprisingly not as easy as I presumed it would be. We have yet to find anything.

The main point is that I get to put off clearing out my armoire-o-shoes for another week, at least, yay! I still have not figured out the best means to get rid of my beloved shoes...

Shoes I am still on the look-out for:

-green patent shoes
-gold non-strappy-sandals shoes
-professional black flats(ish)

If you see anything outstanding, I wear a 9/9.5! Don't be shy; link me to 'em!

*Deal of the Week* 6PM Sale Shoes

Admit it. You've been noticing all of that patent orange out there, and have been dying to give it a whirl. Don't worry; so have I. But how long can one wear a bright orange shoe? Will I look out-of-date next summer? Does it really match enough of my wardrobe? Fear not --- you can try these rsvp "Alani" sandals in orange for only... $14.74. Yes, that's right, they're 44% off. For just over ten bucks you have a sizzling sandal for summer. This is just one of many incredible summer shoes on sale right now at 6PM, and that's why this is my pick for Deal of the Week.

Reaching the Max

Nope, not a post about TJ Maxx -- although I would love too, because I am totally a commercial when it comes to that store. I'll walk around the day after shopping telling complete strangers how cheap my awesome dress/shoes/purse are.

However, what actually happened the other day was that upon trying to locate a pair of shoes to match a certain top, I realized that I had completely forgotten about the bottom shelf of my armoire-o-shoes, which means there were five or six pairs of shoes I'd forgotten that I own.

And that, friends, means that it is time for me to REALLY get rid of a few pairs. Especially because I may be going to the mall this weekend -- and we all know what that means.

There's this one pair I very much want, but I can't find it on sale in my size. I am rather expert at finding shoes on sale, but I don't have to only shop clearance for great shoes. (My father taught me that it's okay to splurge if you really do love something and will wear it a lot.) The problem here is that I know these shoes are on sale in some shops, but those are selling out too quickly for me to find my size. But how can I pay full price when the shoes are on sale in SOME places? I just can't. My mother wouldn't approve. However I have faith that I will persevere, and when those come in I... am selecting a pair of shoes I own and getting rid of them.

The problem is that I still haven't decided on the correct course. Goodwill? We give to them regularly and I know they come to the house but... are my shoes good enough for consignment? I've made some decent cash by shelling out old fashion to consignment shops in the past. Or maybe eBay? I just can't decide!

As always, I will keep you posted on the narrative of my shoe-hoarding.
I think one armoire full is my new designated capacity. I have hit maximum.

The Big Sandal Sale from Walking Company

Now, how awesome would it be if there really WERE one giant sandal being sold for less? That would be amazing. I'd have to bid on that. But I think what The Walking Company means by "The Big Sandal Sale" is that ALL of their sandals are DEEPLY on sale, which makes way more sense. Oh, the American English language. Anyway, with respect to grammar, I say you check out some of these big-sale sandals because you really can save a pretty penny. I was actually going to post a more casual thong-type sandal, but then these caught my eye. Guys, this is Pikolinos. In case you haven't noticed, I loooove Pikolinos shoes, especially their men's line. It's superior crafting, ultimate comfort and quality leather. They're longlasting European-style shoes. So when I saw the remarkable price on these --- heck, when I saw them on sale at all --- I had to choose them to feature for this sale. Only $59.00 down from $144.95 and trust me, you'd better get them while they last. I might, too. Think of it as an investment for many summers and vacations to come...

The Weekend Shoe

So Piperlime - a shoe store I actually love and browse with reguarity (thanks to my Old Navy card, ahem) - (Piperlime is also a site I use to price-compare after the one time I found the shoes I wanted on there cheaper than where I'd been planning to buy them) - released a new category called the "Weekend Shoe" where they've sorted together all of the shoes one ... would wear ... on the weekends? According to them, these shoes are for when one is "out and about" (which we aren't on weekdays? o...kay?).

So what do you think about this weekend shoe thing? Does it just mean "non-work" shoes? Isn't that a rather broad category in all honesty? Or are we referring to shlumpy-dumpy comfort shoes for running around when we think no-one's looking? And aren't those called flip-flops? I don't know. That's why I'm asking you! So take a look at the collection and let me know how you feel about the "Weekend Shoe" category. Helpful or no?

Are any of these what you are wearing on the weekend?

$5 Off $60 at Payless

I haven't seen these in person to speak for the appearance, but as far as a designer shoe for Payless, 'Sabrina' by Lela Rose seems to hit all the marks. Trendy color, elegant lines, and something a little less "Payless" than we've come to expect. Seriously, is this the kind of shoe you'd expect to see there? Now, I've been looking for a pair of orange shoes to try, and if these look as good in person as they do online, they might just end up in my armoire-o-shoes. These are currently $35, but if you spend $60 in one go you'll save $5 from the total with code PS5OFF60. And then you'll qualify for Free Shipping since your order will still be over $50!

Hot Shoes for the Summer

So here are the Style Bard's official must-have summer shoe styles for 2008. For each trend, I'll tell you where to find it - and you might be surprised at what you can actually afford!

1) Flip-Flops

Old Navy Flip-Flops

Surely this comes as no surprise. Let's be honest here - what's more of a must-have than a sturdy and stylish flip-flop to get you through the heat waves? Naturally, I have to suggest going with the classic: Old Navy Flip-Flops. Everyone from teen girls to their fathers are wearing them, and that's because they're cheap, they're comfortable and they last. They also come in an array of colors and designs, so you can match your outfit every day and you'll never get bored. Don't be mistaken, I'm not suggesting these as "date night" shoes, but if you're just running errands or hitting the beach, Old Navy Flip-Flops are your go-to. One suggestion? Don't wear them when it's raining.

Alternative: Fit Flops. Less stylish, but they tone your legs and buttocks as you walk and that might just be a fair trade!

2) Floral

Black Satin Flower Enamel Heel Sandals from Prada

From the runways to the racks, florals are in bloom in fashion right now, and the perfect way to give a nod to the trend without looking like your grandmother's house frock is wearing them on your shoes. Whether spackled with buds or boasting one blossom, a flower on your shoe means you know what's going on with style this summer.

3) Architectural Heels

Danger, KORS by Michael Kors

Hello, heels! I just adore a nifty architectural heel, and apparently I'm not the only one. Have women simply gotten bored with wedges and espadrilles and decided they want something new? I think it's a way to show some personality without going over the edge, and the lines and shapes created contrast perfectly with a soft, flowy sundress just right, creating a harmonious duet.

4) Gladiator Sandals

Gilda by Sam Edelman

I seem to recall eyeing a pair of these about a year or so ago, but Summer 2008 was destined to be the season they'd take off and explode all over the glossies, the celebs and even your local mall. Maybe it was Rami's draping that gave girls the urge to go Roman? Whatever the cause, gladiator sandals are a must-have with jeans or a casual dress. Throw on some bronzer and you're good to go.

Alternative: No kidding, but Payless. I actually had to stop myself from purchasing a cheapie pair to kick around in this summer last time I was there, so if like me you know these things aren't going to stay hot forever, maybe a low-cost version is the safest bet.

5) Metallics

Tempo Sandal by BP

A hold-over from last summer, metallics have weathered the test of time and proven themselves to be a true summer trend. We don't seem to tire of seeing or buying gold, silver and bronze- because who doesn't like something shiny? And even when you're shopping high-end, you're probably still going to save if you put the bling on your feet rather than on your finger, ears, or around your neck. So feel free to splurge and enjoy knowing that metallics seem to be here to stay- for now.

So that's the round-up on must-haves for this summer. Agree/disagree? Feel free to let me know in the comments. Want more suggestions for shoes that follow these trends? Hit up the inbox and tell me what you're looking for - as well as your budget.

(More flip-flops, floral shoes, architectural heels, or metallic shoes.)
