Designer Shoes vs. Imposters

I was reading Manolo's Shoe Blog (as per usual) and I came across this and this article on the familiar topic of shoddy knock-offs of stolen shoe designs, which reminded me that I had the most bizarre encounter a few weeks ago. To kill time before I needed to drop my visiting mother off at LaGuardia, we wandered into one of those many nameless discount shoe stores in NYC and I came upon these $15 shoes:
