*Deal of the Week* New Markdowns at ShopBop

ShopBop always has amazing merchandise on sale for 30%-70% off, but I love when new markdowns are added so that you can be the first to scope out new on-sale looks and grab them in your size before they sell out. Because all 70% off merchandise is final sale, and once your size is gone, it's gone. Nothing aches so much as missing out on your favorite designer shoes because you were late to the sale. Fresh discounts include these sick Z-Project Platform Pumps by L.A.M.B. They're kind of blowing my mind; not just the crazy angles and architecture, but also the contrast of the 'f--- me pumps' edginess with the soft sheen of satin. Amazing--and now 30% off if you get to them in time!

Win Free Shoes Competition from GINA

It's pretty well-known that Style Bard is a big fan of the glam looks from GINA. Sadly, these shoes fall well out of my typical shoe-buying price range, but I always look forward to the opportunity to win free shoes through ongoing contests. Typically, a shoe will be presented and you simply have to use clues or search the site to identify the style name. Easy, right? And for this simply participation, you're automatically entered to win free shoes from GINA. The shoes shown here are part of the current contest; even though I could be selfish and keep mum to better my own chances, you guys know I would never do that to you! I truly hope that if I don't win, at least it's one of my readers (because I know you all love shoes as much as I). And of course, if you do win, I would love to hear about it!

Free Shipping from DesignerShoes

For a limited time you can use code AFREEUSA to get Free Shipping on your entire order from DesignerShoes. DesignerShoes is known for two things: selling dressy shoes (you've unwittingly encountered them on thousands of prom-goers, brides and wedding attendants) and for selling a wide range of wide and plus-size shoes (up to size 13). If you need dress shoes for any occasion--including satin dyeable shoes for poor bridesmaids doomed to some incomprehensible shade of Teal--then DesignerShoes is for you. Style Bard faves are these elegant 'Sharmain' pumps from Touch-Ups. The best part about them (other than their subtle sophistication and the fact that they come in a handful of different colors) is that they have a heel of less than 3" which will make it much easier to tolerate a banquet that lasts long into the wee evening hours and may even require dancing. No need to kick off your shoes under the table--just keep an even keel in low-heeled, sensible shoes. There is such a thing as a practical dress shoe, see?

Anne Hathaway's Red Carpet Shoes

Anne Hathaway brought some old-style glamour to the 63rd Annual Tony Awards in New York

As I was perusing pictures from the Tony Awards last night, one actress in particular caught my eye: Anne Hathaway. Always Best Dressed, Hathaway looked stunning in a classic look: the LBD and red shoes. Not just any LBD, but a delicate strapless number by Oscar de la Renta. Naturally, it was the shoes that caught my eyes. Of course, a satin peep-toe in red is almost always going to be knock-out, so I decided to see how they compared to her other red carpet shoes. And my half-cocked theory turned out to be true--Anne Hathaway is a toe-show-er! What I mean is, time and time again, she's confident to show off her perfect pedicures in a pair of open-toe or peep-toe shoes.

Here's a look from February, at the Independent Film Awards:

And here's one from the October 2008 ELLE Magazine Women in Hollywood Tribute:

15th Annual Women In Hollywood Event - Arrivals

But my favorites might just be these complicated beauties from the premiere of Rachel Getting Married:

Premiere Of Rachel Getting Married - After Party - TIFF 2008

Evidence from earlier years includes the following:

Thus confirming my suspicions that Anne Hathaway is proud of her petite little feet and her well-cared-for toes. Somehow, this only makes me like her more.

70% Off Shoes in the Banana Republic Winter Sale

The Banana Republic Winter Sale is still going strong! (Not to be confused with the Holiday Sale, of course.) That means your favorite shoes are up to 70% off the retail value. The best part about this Banana Republic shoe sale are these gorgeous 'Ophelie' satin pumps. These are the quintessential shoes for every woman's wardrobe! Whether you wear them to the office or to a party or under dressy jeans, with their shiny satin accent, these will make every outfit more glam. They have a medium heel and slightly pointed toe, the perfect display of restraint and moderation. I absolutely adore and highly recommend these heels, and they're now only $59.99 (down from an original $130.00). Get them while they last!
